I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.ġ I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.Ģ8 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.ġ9 And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.Ĩ My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.ġ3Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. Amen.ġ0 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.ġ6 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.ġ7 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.ġ1 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.ġ8 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand Ģ A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.ģ A fire devoureth before them and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness yea, and nothing shall escape them.Ĥ The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses and as horsemen, so shall they run.ĥ Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.ġWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,ġ5 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
